Coordinating Producer
Fox Sports South – Atlanta
Fox Sports South in Atlanta is searching for a Coordinating Producer to join their team. This position is responsible for the day to day supervision of live and taped event network productions, including event coverage and original programming, in coordination with Executive Producer. Duties include supervision and assignment of Producers and Directors; coordination with Director of Operations to maximize production resources within budgets; evaluation and critique of Producers and Directors; implementation of network production procedures and guidelines; coordination of production needs for third party productions; and producing and directing events if/when appropriate. This position will also coordinate efforts across all other departments within the company.
Responsibilities
Manages all production elements and personnel and serves as primary contact for all live events with FSN employees and freelance production staff.
Produces needed documents for each regional event.
Gathers information and materials needed for the production of these events and arranges for delivery to appropriate personnel.
Organizes and manages meetings and conference calls related to these events as required.
Determines the producers, directors and all non-talent production personnel for live events as assignedand gives appropriate instruction and critique.
Interfaces with FSN Promotions, Sales, Graphics, Music, and Operations departments to ensure that all elements related to each production are appropriately delivered in a timely manner.
Provides excellent management and leadership to all event productions. Works with Senior Producer and Executive Producer to coordinate all studio and/or other productions and staff which may be involved in event coverage or original programs.
Qualifications:
The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Communications, Broadcasting, Radio/TV/Film, or equivalent work experience.
A minimum of 5 years' experience in live sports event or news production and technical operations is necessary.
Experience with production budgets is helpful.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are needed.
Good organizational and project management skills are necessary.
A demonstrated ability work under limited supervision in a high pressure environment is essential.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook is necessary.
A functional understanding of studio and remote production equipment is required and the ability to operate it is preferred.
Experience with linear and non-linear editing equipment is preferred. Must have working knowledge of all elements of all live event sports television: facilities, crews, production techniques, graphics, scheduling and assignments, evaluation of creative elements. Must have extensive experience in live sports event television production at a ''network'' level.
Frequently required use of hands and fingers to write, manipulate telephone and computer keyboard. Regularly required to hear, talk and use close vision. Occasionally required to bend and lift up to 30 pounds. Must be able to drive a car.
Must be willing to travel often, work long hours including nights, weekends and holidays and attend live sports events.
