The Fox Networks Group Business & Legal Affairs department is seeking a Legal Assistant to provide administrative support for at least 3 members of the department, including one Senior Vice President. This position assists with preparation of legal documents and redlines, drafts routine letters and other correspondence, reviews and edits prepared documents for accuracy, and maintains/administers legal contract filing system.
Responsibilities
• Manages/directs phone calls and written correspondence/faxes, facilitates execution of legal agreements, and handles distribution of agreements/documentation to executives on a regular basis.
• Various projects, including drafting letters/correspondence, assisting with preparation of legal documents and redlines, and reviewing and editing prepared documents for accuracy.
• Manages calendar by scheduling meetings and conference calls, confirming dial-in information and conference room availability; creating meeting agendas and circulating meeting materials.
• Updates contract binders, photocopy documents and distribute to various clients. Accurately maintains and administers legal contract filing system, assists in monitoring dates of legal significance (e.g., options and expirations) and works with File Room Records Coordinator.
• Books travel and manages expense reports.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required.
• Minimum 2-3 years previous legal assistant experience required. Prior work experience in a fast-paced environment is required. At least 1 year previous paralegal experience.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel is required. Experience with Adobe Acrobat, Apple (IPhone), DeltaView and Accutrac preferred.
• Strong written and oral communication skills are a must, along with superior grammar, editing and proofing skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and detail-oriented with the ability to independently prioritize work and handle multiple tasks with set deadlines, with superior follow-through and follow-up required.
• Must be client-service orientated and able to complete high volumes of tasks and projects quickly and accurately with little guidance; react with appropriate urgency to situations and events that require a quick response or turnaround; take effective action without having to know the total picture; and solve problems that affect people within the group or other related groups.
• Must possess a high level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information, and professionalism in dealing with senior professionals and others at all levels inside and outside the company is essential.
