The Director Live and Touring Entertainment ensures integration of approved visual identity across all deliverables and works to support the corporate strategy as prescribed by Live Entertainment and Exhibition Touring projects. The Director Live and Touring Entertainment is also responsible for the creative oversight of Live Entertainment development and Touring Exhibition projects through initial concept generation, production, opening and through the run of these projects.
Responsibilities include managing Live and Exhibition creative projects from concept to completion, translating objectives into creative strategies and directing the creative team in the production. When appropriate the Director Live and Touring Entertainment is responsible for recruiting and managing third party design, graphic artists, illustrators, writers and other necessary creative professionals as warranted by the particular needs of a given Live or Touring Exhibition project. Additional duties include, but are not limited to:
§ Oversees and directs the execution of applicable project elements to insure guest experience intent and overall quality.
§ Acts as a ''vision-keeper'' for the project team. Communicates, inspires and maintains projects intent among all team-members.
§ Identifies talent and resources necessary to complete the project and works with the Project Manager to procure services.
§ Provide quality control over concepts and projects.
§ Manage the daily maintenance and work flow of projects, including status reporting to the VP of LBE.
§ Communicate orally and in writing, clearly and concisely with co-workers, supervisors and other team members.
§ Adapt the style and technical level of the message to the target audience.
§ Practice effective presentation skills.
§ Serve as the brand, character and story ambassadors, protecting the Company's IP and brand integrity.
§ Evaluate, challenge and coach all aspects of the Design team's professional development.
§ Prioritize, manage and accomplish multiple projects simultaneously
§ Ensure that the creative assets provided to internal and external clients are successfully completed while meeting detailed specifications and budget requirements.
§ Oversee development and execution of character costumes and sculptures, when applicable.
Mac and PC Proficient: Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Keynote, and FTP site and server savvy (Fox Media Exchange).
§ Leadership skills that demonstrate the ability to manage motivate a creative team.
§ Proven ability to work with multiple clients and brands to interpret their direction and strategy into a visual plan in order to achieve targeted revenue goals and a comprehensive portfolio of same.
§ Training in and/or a demonstrable understanding of the basic principles of art, theatre, scriptwriting.
§ Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals and typography, with the ability to translate ideas to designers and develop innovative graphic solutions and plans.
Experience leading a world-class team on live entertainment and exhibition projects is required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
