KDVR/Fox31 Denver and KWGN/Colorado's Own Channel Two, the Tribune Broadcasting duopoly in Denver, has an immediate opening for an experienced weekend Meteorologist/storm chaser.
We are looking for a dynamic Meteorologist who lives and breathes weather! Must be experienced at forecasting major storms whether snow events or tornadoes. In addition to anchoring the weathercasts two days a week, candidate must be able to report from the field. We want someone who is comfortable in a tricked out weather tracker vehicle and capable of doing multiple live shots during extended storm coverage. Candidate will also be called upon to produce weathercasts for others when there are no major weather events.
Requirements include: at least five years as an on-air television meteorologist; Certified Broadcast Meteorologist designation from AMS and/or NWA Seal; degree in meteorology, atmospheric science or related field of study.
Ideal candidate should be an excellent communicator who is credible, passionate about weather of all kinds with some knowledge of Colorado.
You must also be proficient at social media and other digital media platforms. We want you to own weather on digital and web. Familiarity with Weather Central/WSI technology preferred.
