Sports Production Operations encompasses the ecosystems of Post Production Workflows, Post Production Scheduling, Media Management and the Assignment Desk. This group oversees scheduling of editors, graphic artists, audio mixers and daily hire EIC and Media Operators, manages content workflows from inception to archive, working between remote and studio productions, and providing a large role in production support including providing Features support, ENG crews, feed management, file transfers, production integrations, and broadcast management.
The Senior Director, Media Management oversees all Sports Media Management & Strategy including the design, build, roll out and maintenance of media workflow systems, retention policies, naming conventions and workflow innovations. This role will work with both internal and external stakeholders across multiple areas to maintain media management systems, including production resource management and scheduling, workflow optimization, process orchestration, and oversight of all Sports content.
Responsibilities
• Develops and executes content management strategy and process with end-to-end oversight of media resources.
• Creates and enforces standards, systems and best practices (both human and technological) for content creation, distribution, maintenance, content retrieval and content re purposing, including the real-time implementation of content strategies.
• Works with operational and technical teams to implement appropriate Media Asset Management systems across multiple groups, events and physical locations.
• Researches new technology applications, and innovative solutions pertaining to Post Production and File Based workflows. Advanced experience in MAMs, file-based workflows, trans-coding, deliverables, media codecs and wrappers required.
• Will coordinate with Sports Senior Management on implementation of the organization's goals and objectives, as well to ensure that technologies are being fully leveraged across the enterprise for optimal effectiveness and value.
• Directs Media Management staffing and support personnel for optimal coverage and efficiency working with production, operations and technical teams.
• Manages vendor relationships and service agreements across content media strategy.
Qualifications:
• Outstanding verbal, written communication, presentation, and documentation skills required.
• Strong planning and organizational skills, highly analytic and strategic capacity towards achieving short and long term organizational goals.
• Candidate must be proficient with Post Production/Media Management technology solutions, MAM/DAM solutions, media centric file based workflows, Work Order Systems, Windows and Mac operating systems, as well as Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Keynote, and other similar software.
• Bachelor's degree.
• 7-10 years of production, operations or content management experience, including 3-5 years in a supervisory/managerial capacity.
• Experience in designing, implementing, maintaining media management systems
