Resource Scheduler (Fox Networks Engineering & Operations – Los Angeles, CA)
Under the Production Manager's general supervision, the Resource Scheduler is responsible for scheduling Production facilities, related equipment and freelance technical crews at 1440 Sepulveda. Duties include but are not limited to determining the needs of client productions and scheduling available resources appropriately. Client support for: Fox Sports, MundoFox, Fox Deportes and Fox Latin America Channels.
The Fox Networks Engineering and Operations Group (NE&O) is the group that is singularly responsible for the receipt, uplink, delivery and distribution of all networks wholly or partially owned by FOX, Inc. NE&O is a 24/7 mission critical operation which supports business units in six distinct locations –three (3) in Los Angeles, California (Pico, Playa del Rey and 1440 Sepulveda);one (1) in The Woodlands, TX; one (1) in San Francisco, CA; and one (1) in New York, NY. Overall, NE&O has over 1000 full-time equivalent employees. Candidates who seek employment with NE&O must be available to work 24/7.
Responsibilities
• Interfaces with Management, Producers, Schedulers and other departments to determine production needs and schedule resources based on those needs.
• Determines which facility and crews are available -schedules and confirms crews and inputs data in ScheduALL. Decides which crew members will best serve the specific production request. Makes recommendations to whether a proposed change to the production roster is feasible. Makes recommendations when a single resource is requested by multiple parties.
• Develops monthly Production calendar and inputs in ScheduALL.
• Cross checks work orders against client requests and posts schedules and work orders.
• Attends weekly organizational and programming meetings and actively seeks information that may not be readily given and communicates information with team members.
• Coordinates production elements with producers and technical crews and assists productions when possible.
• Tracks facility usage and make adjustments in ScheduALL when necessary for billing purposes.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree preferred in Communications, Production or Business Administration with 2 years of experience in a Broadcast/Cable production environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, negotiation and presentation skills as well as good interpersonal skills are required. Bi-lingual in Spanish and English is beneficial.
• Ability to multitask, balance multiple projects along with strong analytical skills. Basic arithmetic required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications on a PC platform with ScheduALL experience a plus. Proficient typing skills.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail are required. A demonstrated ability to work well independently and also within a team. The ability to work in a fast paced environment under tight deadlines and flexibility with constant change in priorities and direction. A self-starter with great decision making skills.
