Full Time Job
This position will supervise and project manages all NGP Book division reprints and custom publishing jobs. Responsibilities will include retrieval of appropriate files from the archive, establishing and tracking production/design/editorial deliverables and troubleshooting QC issues with printer files. This position will also track the number of printings made of a title and report this to Legal Affairs to ensure that the appropriate photo rights have been secured. Additional responsibilities will include providing cover for the Production Manager, retrieval of digital assets for local language partners and Books Marketing. This position will require general supervision.
Responsibilities
• Establish the schedule for the production/design/editorial staff and ensure that key deadlines are met
• Responsible for creating a manufacturing record in the Books Filmmaker database
• Ensures that the printer pdf files are delivered on time to the printer to meet the manufacturing schedule
• Retrieve appropriate printer files from the archives, qc the files for quality issues and ensure the correct edition of the title is passed to the production designers
• Ensures that the correct book will be manufactured
• Track the total number of books printed over the history of a title and alert the photo team to check that NGP has the appropriate rights
• Ensures that all photo rights are reviewed and in order prior to printing
• Retrieve requested final files and image files for licensing and marketing activities
• Ensures delivery to the appropriate Licensing partner or vendor
• Ensures the timely delivery of correct digital assets to the appropriate customer or vendor
• Coordinates all production needs for packaged titles, including prepping covers, tracking progress and approving book samples
• Provides the production service support needed by Book Packagers to ensure that they manufacture books to NG Books specs and quality standards
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree with minimum 2 years relevant experience in book production or project management
• Strong written and oral skills.
• Experience in using Filmmaker Databases
• Knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop, Microsoft Office (incl. Excel & Word) Quark & Portfolio
