Full Time Job
The Production Manager oversees the workflow and communication of day-to-day live production within FS1 Studio Production. This is a point person who manages multiple productions simultaneously, coordinates with a variety of internal departments and handles issues/situations that arise in relation to the freelance technical crew. This position is a member of a service-oriented team that provides technical crew and resources to our creative partners within Fox Sports. The Production Manager reports to and works in tandem with the Director of Production to assure comprehensive communication of all production elements, maintain facility broadcast standards and works to resolve problems prior to air.
Responsibilities
• Provide oversight of staffing, scheduling and operations for day-to-day live production to avoid conflicts, overtime and to utilize the best resources for each production.
• Manage master talent contributor schedule and shared costs among studio shows.
• Contributes to long-term strategy for all studio shows.
• Organize studio remote productions and support on-site with oversight of set up, logistics support, and budget.
• Work closely with Finance and Legal partners on new contracts and expenses as they relate to show units.
• Onboard new hires and process freelance crew payroll.
• Manage supply orders, oversee expendables, and handle purchase requests.
• Report staffing concerns and day-to-day show challenges to supervisors.
• Work in tandem with Production Coordinator providing some supervision and oversight of responsibilities.
• Be available to trouble shoot production solutions and work with technical staff to provide broadcast options for our creative partners.
• Additional assignments and projects as needed/requested by management.
• Available for travel throughout the calendar year for studio remotes, features, and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor Degree in Communications and/or 3-5 years as a Production Manager in Stage Production.
• Excellent English writing, verbal, presentation and interpersonal skills required, Spanish is a plus.
• Logical thinker, solution oriented. Ability to manage multiple projects, lead groups and possess strong analytical skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications plus comfort with scheduling software.
• Organization skills and attention to detail are required. Demonstrated business relationships, multi-tasking skills and the ability to work well in a changing environment.
• Understanding of technical production control room workflows, Communicative, Easily approachable.
• Ability to work weekends, positive outlook, team oriented, collaborative.
