Full Time Job
The Production Manager will assume responsibility of the manufacturing process for all assigned book projects. Travel domestically and internationally to perform press approvals and monitor external productions standards. Ensure the quality and environmental standards of NGP are upheld by all approved vendors by acting as a liaison between the NGP and approved vendors.
REQUIREMENTS
• Serves as the authority for color management on projects assigned and provides photo editors and designers manufacturing expertise for each picture prior to printing.
• Digitally manipulates color densities of CMYK photographs, artwork and illustrations using PhotoShop and or InSite to achieve optimal press results.
• Manages the production of book titles from conceptualization to final printing by coordinating efforts of editors, graphic designers, photo editors, pre press and print vendors.
• Establishes deadlines and maintains schedules between editorial, design and pre-press for all assigned book titles.
• Confirms correct content for each page of all titles and authorizes final acceptance of page proofs prior to final submission to printer.
Qualifications:
• 5 years manufacturing or production experience required. Color Management, Pre-Press, Printing issue resolution, Paper, Cover Treatments, Binding Styles, Binding Materials.
• Strong communication skills
• Strong negotiation, organization and diplomacy skills including strategic feedback and conflict resolution.
• Strong analytical skills, accuracy, and the ability to prioritize in order to meet tight deadlines
• Proficient with the following applications/software: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Indesign, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Filemaker Pro, LifeSize Video Conferencing Software, Kodak InSite and Matchprint Virtual
• Will need to work independently with limited supervision and be detail-oriented
