Under the direction of the Senior Vice President of Post Production, the Director of Post Production will provide leadership, strategic planning, and be responsible for the overall management and operation of FOX Networks Engineering and Operations Group (NE&O) at Pico in support of the FX Networks, and Fox Broadcasting Channel Graphics and Production. In addition, the Director will coordinate with FOX NE&O's senior management in the development and implementation of the organization's goals and objectives.
Responsibilities
• Provides daily operational support, develops and formulates workflows and best practices for FOX NE&O Post Operations that achieve the organization's goals and objectives, coordinates the effort to implement resulting initiatives and capital and operational projects by partnering with NE&O Engineering and other support divisions, FBC, FX and outside vendors. Works closely with NE&O in streamlining communications and resources.
• Coaches and develops the management team towards continual improvement and working efficiently through goal setting and priorities; provides ongoing staff development and mentoring.
• Directs staff responsible for supporting the 24x7 Post Production Operations and collaborating with various client groups including: FBC OAP, FX OAP, and FX Productions and its divisions across the enterprise.
• Manages the preparation of annual operating and capital budgets, quarterly forecasts, and other financial documents. Provides information and justifications for budgetary review and approval process.
• Ensures that the organization has the appropriate systems, physical space, technology, and human resources to operate efficiently and effectively. With an eye toward the future, always proactively identifying new technologies that increase efficiencies, speed to market, improve quality and maintain a competitive advantage.
• Be a source of industry knowledge and expertise in the areas of Graphics creation, Production, Post Production, file based workflows, and media management through the documentation, writing, and presentation of models, strategy, solutions, and industry trends within FOX NE&O and at industry conferences and other related venues.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in TV Production, Broadcasting, Engineering or Business preferred. A minimum of 5 years professional management experience required in Broadcast or Post Production environments.
• Outstanding verbal, written communication, presentation, and documentation skills required.
• Strong planning and organizational skills, highly analytic and strategic capacity towards achieving short and long term organizational goals.
• Candidate must be extremely proficient with Post Production and editorial and graphic technology solutions, MAM/DAM solutions, media centric file based workflows, Windows and Mac operating systems, as well as Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Keynote, and other similar software.
• Provide excellent customer service. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, build consensus, and positively motivate staff and team members.
• Frequently required use of hands and fingers to write, manipulate telephone and computer keyboard. Regularly required to hear, talk and use close vision.
• Ability to push, pull and lift up objects (up to 25 lbs)
• Availability for consultation or decision-making outside of normal business hours.
Division Description
The Fox Networks Engineering and Operations Group (NE&O) is the group that is singularly responsible for the receipt, uplink, delivery and distribution of all networks wholly or partially owned by FOX, Inc. NE&O is a 24/7 mission critical operation which supports business units in five distinct locations – three (3) in Los Angeles, California (Pico, Playa Vista and 1440 Sepulveda); one (1) in The Woodlands, TX; and one (1) in New York, NY. Overall, NE&O has over 1000 full-time equivalent employees. Candidates who seek employment with NE&O must be available to work 24/7.
