The Digital Media Coordinator facilitates the workflow of Fox Sports West and Prime Ticket by performing daily tasks needed to keep our file-based system running smoothly. These tasks primarily include: Maintain media through the Avid Interplay Access program; Ingesting media off P2 and SD cards; tracking LTO tapes in the Front Porch Archive system; uploading and downloading media to and from FTP servers; Booking, with The Woodlands, our original programming feeds and game route outs; Fulfill footage requests using Avid Media Composer.
Responsibilities:
• Maintain digital media assets coming from the following: incoming feeds, outside vendors, ftp servers (to and from). The digital media assets are monitored via the Avid Interplay Access program. Media is moved, deleted, organized, archived and restored
• Fulfill daily footage requests from various sources including but not limited to, team partners, production, Fox Sports 1, sales and other regions
• Coordinate with producers, operations and engineering to book original programming and game route out feeds
• Tracking LTO tapes (long term archived cartridges) in the front porch system. In a file based work flow, to maintain a safe level of Isis storage, media needs to be archived to LTO tapes before it is deleted from the Isis. If tapes are not maintained, archiving will fail, potentially leading to the inability to delete enough media from the Isis to keep it at a safe capacity
• FTP maintenance. Maintain the steady work flow via an FTP site of material flowing from our team partners, sales requirements
Qualifications:
• This position requires a high school diploma or equivalency.
• A minimum of 2-3 years experience as a Production Assistant with a broadcast or cable network is necessary.
• Previous experience in interviewing subjects, editing, logging tapes and post production is required.
• A Bachelor's degree with an emphasis on broadcast communications is preferred
• Good oral and written communication skills are needed, including the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of production personnel.
• Background in archiving and/or media management is highly recommended. Computer operating systems knowledge is a must, networking skills a plus.
• Flexible hours/schedule and weekend and holiday shifts will be required.
• Must be knowledgeable in areas of technical production, and familiar with all production equipment.
• Knowledgeable maintaining Avid systems (Media Composers, Unity ISIS, Interplay) and archive LTO systems. Computer, telephone, printer, calculator, copier, fax machine.
• Hands on working knowledge of all software programs in house.
