Design Assistant (Kid's Print and Digital Magazine)
The purpose of the Design Assistant is to help the design department with production infrastructure with a focus on quality-control and cost-savings particularly for Children's Books.
REQUIREMENTS
• Assist in-house design teams by preparing release files for Children's Publishing titles
• Correct and adjust all incoming and outgoing design files as needed
• Work closely with Children's Books Production Editor to input corrections at key proofing stages
• Review files for accuracy in order to prevent errors and inconsistencies to ensure files are technically sound prior to release
• Assist with Photoshop and Illustrator work
• Coordinate and fulfill promotional, sales and marketing requests for materials
• Handle all requests for design-related content, including support for NGS International licensing needs
• Provide general technical help and troubleshooting to division staff and freelance designers in regard to best practices for outputting files for printers and engravers
• Assist designers in creation of digital assets for NG Kids website or marketing materials for products
• Prepare files for online power point presentations and present
Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree in graphic design, journalism or other related field
• Minimum of 1-3 years experience in related field
• English proficiency / Good written and oral communication skills
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
• Able to prioritize time in accordance to deadline
