Freelance Job
The FOX Network Center – Charlotte is seeking highly talented Freelance Broadcast Editors to create television spots and other compelling content for our Promotions unit. This unit is responsible for supporting NFL Football, College Football, Major League Baseball, Boxing, The Ultimate Fighter, Men's and Women's Soccer, and various racing series coverage on FS1. In addition, editors may be assigned to provide additional content for our Production unit including sports events ranging from NASCAR and other Car racing, Motorcycle racing like MotoGP and Supercross, Monster Jam, etc. as well as the previously mentioned sports series.
This role requires previous Post Production experience in a television environment utilizing High Definition (HD) non-linear editing systems, media management applications, and a working knowledge of technical standards and requirements for on-air broadcasts. The ideal candidates must have a knowledge of color correction, waveform and vector scope use as well as other tools used in measuring video and audio signals to ensure quality control of FOX's broadcast standards for delivery to air. Must have a knowledge of audio standards and requirements such as OMF and AAF creation and stereo and surround sound basics. In addition, the Freelance Broadcast Editors must understand, adapt and adhere to a complex digital workflow to get projects delivered under strict deadlines. Working hand-in-hand with producers who expect performance under pressure and to deliver professional, high quality television content under tight deadlines.
Qualifications:
• Experience in practical television production or related experience at the large market or network level.
• Must have an in-depth working knowledge of advanced non-linear editing and TV graphics software such as Adobe Premiere CC15, Adobe After-Effects, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator as well as conversion software such as Adobe Encoder.
• Candidates may work on projects for live events and TV programs that air same-day. This means performing in a high-pressure environment for delivery of content to a live ''on-air'' control room.
• Must be able to work independently and manage simultaneous projects and perform overlapping tasks that are mistake-free.
• Candidates must possess solid communication skills and must effectively hand off their work to other editors and producers who will pick up where work is left off. This requires following strict FOX standards of operation and organizational skills to complete projects and sequences in a timely manner.
• Candidates must have the ability to work nights, weekends and holidays. They must have the flexibility to change their shifts/days off to accommodate projects and departmental objectives.
• Candidates must have excellent computer skills and a diversified computer background (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
• A college or technical school degree in communications, television production or related field.

FOX Network Center Charlotte (FNCC) is a facility that services the needs of FOX Sports, headquartered in Los Angeles, CA. Our editor staff supports FOX Network Engineering and Operations, or NE&O. Most of the work required is typical of a cable-based television network. Editors produce content that will air on the FOX Family of networks (FOX Sports, FS1, FS2, and the FOX Sports Racing Network in Canada). This content is created using DVCProHD format for delivery to air directly, or uploaded to high throughput servers for our Technical Operations Center in Los Angeles (TOC) to distribute to FOX Regional Networks across the country.
