The Associate Manager, Post Production reports to the Executive Director of Post Production and is responsible for maintaining the day-to-day operations of Post Production, including media resource services, edit bays, and live post production environments. The Post Production department at Fox Sports is a growing, dynamic, collaborative team with a focus on technology and efficiency, and is a part of an award winning, first-rate technical team in the media industry.
Responsibilities
• Assists in overseeing workflow practices with technical facilities including hardware, software, and personnel in order to meet creative requirements.
• Assists in management of union labor team, including workflow practices, schedule, budget, and personnel issues.
• Assists in purchases, as well as tracking budgets for expenditures and labor costs.
• Speaks to both areas requiring improvement and methodology for execution, with regard to contingent impacts.
• Assists in managing an extensive team of NABET daily hire editors and operators by adhering to the union contract and carrying out the vision of Senior Management at the ground level.
• Set context effectively for all employees and adhere to best practices for the business.
• Maintain focus on the ultimate objective while understanding the granular moving parts and interconnected dependencies.
• Solve problems effectively using both personnel and technological resources; understand when and why to escalate.
• Establishes a relationship with production peers and all other members of the post production team in order to facilitate timely communication of best practices, issues, and change management.
Qualifications:
• Education in TV Production, Broadcasting, Engineering, or a related communications field preferred. A minimum of 2-3 years professional experience required in Broadcast or Post Production environments.
• Candidate must be knowledgeable with Post Production tools for both editorial and graphic technology applications, MAM/DAM solutions, media-centric file-based workflows, Windows and Mac operating systems, as well as digital file transfer solutions.
• Showcases strong team building skills with an excellent ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, build consensus, and positively motivate staff and team members. Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to interact with all levels of personnel is essential.
• Agility in both attitude and approach is paramount in a very fluid production environment.
• Outstanding verbal, written communication, presentation, and documentation skills required, with proficiency for all Google Docs and Microsoft Office applications, and knowledge of both Mac and PC operating systems.
