Full Time Job
This person will be primarily responsible for the planning and execution of strategies impacting multiple agents, deals and markets throughout the Asia-Pacific region, including: gathering and prioritizing global, regional and agent requirements, defining and aligning strategic and financial goals, and working closely with head office and European senior staff, product development, global creative, IT, legal and promotions teams to ensure APAC licensing revenue goals are met. The International Coordinator's job also includes management of all international deal submissions and support for the regional VP as needed.
70% Regional Management
• Directly manage several agents in the Asia Pacific region including deal making (negotiating terms, giving direction), marketing and financials
• Be the expert for those countries/markets: competitive properties, retail landscape, cultural needs, etc
• Synthesize (often through disparate sources) data to build business cases and make recommendations on where the future will be within various countries/regions in Asia across appropriate properties
• Define country specific strategies and business plans with prioritized focus areas (and corresponding justification)
• Working closely with agents, research and develop opportunity analysis specifically related to new approaches, categories and products in their territories
• Manage new regional programs initiated across Asia Pacific in collaboration with agents and other divisions
• Manages creative process/development workflow associated with merchandise and promotional deals, recommending/monitoring direction and next steps to ensure products are brought to market in a timely manner;
• Manages the successful development of our international sales summit here in L.A. and Asia
• Negotiates with agents to modify deal submissions where necessary to maximize FCP income, ensure they meet approval guidelines and are in keeping with FCP strategy
• Directs Global Creative and Brand teams to adapt and implement domestic creative/campaign materials for international use where possible
• Create and implement regularly scheduled training (video conferences and webinars) for agents with regard to merchandise and promotions submissions
30% Operations
• Facilitates, manages (often multiple rounds of revisions) and tracks all deal memos and final agreements across multiple VPs, SVPs, departments and time zones
• Enters Asia Pac merchandise and promotions deals into internal systems
• Contract administrator for all Asia Pacific agreements. Checking agreements in CMS and ensuring that all fields meet appropriate Finance requirements and guidelines- strengthening/rejecting terms of deals as appropriate.
• Oversees the distribution of assets/materials including samples and watermarking/localization of multiple items for agents as needed
• Organizes and coordinates travel activities and reporting for VP
• Involvement in financial process coordination and support: receivables, budget preparations, etc.
• Inventory and oversight of department business supplies
• Displays tact, persistence and persuasiveness to cut through internal roadblocks and get things done on time
Qualifications:
• BA/BS required, MBA or post-graduate degree strongly preferred.
• Minimum 2 years in a high-rigor international environment at a motion picture studio, advertising agency or large brand in the entertainment industry, ideally in licensing
• Experience defining and launching products/initiatives
• Contractual experience/background with an ability to understand agreements
• Ability to deliver a quarterly revenue forecast and budget
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to develop clear and consistent messages across many different stakeholders
• Teamwork skills and ability to work well across multiple cultures and time zones
• Strong Powerpoint and Excel skills a must
• Additional language skills a plus - ideally Mandarin, Korean, Japanese or other Asian language
• Self starter who needs little day to day direction who consistently delivers on time and meets and exceeds MBOs
• Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
