The Publicity Assistant/Coordinator for Fox Broadcasting Company (FBC) NY Publicity will provide day-to-day support for four Entertainment Publicity and Corporate Communications executives (SVP, VP, Manager, and Consultant), including a wide range of duties from handling talent travel arrangements to pulling press toplines and quotes to compiling status reports and recaps, in addition to participating in special events, outreach to press and drafting written PR materials. In addition, the Publicity Assistant/Coordinator will serve as the office administrator by handling all invoices, billing, subscriptions, files and office supply orders, and by overseeing the office internship program. The Publicity Assistant/Coordinator will also assist in the development, coordination and execution of NY-based stunts, promotions, special events and press junkets, including the annual Programming Presentation (Upfront).
Responsibilities:
• Assist and work closely with four Entertainment Publicity and Corporate Communications executives, providing general support, including outreach to press members and fulfilling media requests for materials and information
• Create daily press topline and weekly messaging tracker, as well as pull quotes
• Compile and maintain status reports, launch memos and recaps
• Handle talent travel arrangements and itineraries
• Update media contact lists, mailing lists and databases
• Draft written PR materials, including listings, biographies, press releases and show descriptions
• Oversee NY office internship program by recruiting, interviewing, hiring and overseeing two interns per semester
• Assist in development, organization and execution of NY-based stunts, promotions, special events and press junkets
• Responsible for general office upkeep and maintenance, including handling office supplies, subscriptions, files, billing and invoices
• Occasional light phone coverage (NY staff is responsible for answering their own phones)
Qualifications:
• 4-year college degree. Major/minor concentration in public relations, media relations or communications preferred
• Entertainment publicity internship or work experience preferred
• Experience with talent interaction preferred
• Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills; solid writing and organizational skills; and a sensitivity to detail and time management
• Must welcome new responsibilities and be a self-starter by nature
• Must be outgoing, creative, team-oriented and able to prioritize and handle multi-tasks in a fast-paced environment
