Location: Denver, CO
Reports To: Creative Services Marketing Director
Produce news image, news franchise, and news special report promotion for FOX 31 News and Channel 2 News.. Apply the May 2017 audience research results, and the June 2017 Marketing goals, to daily and long term assignments. Maintain a consistent message and tone that supports the news marketing strategy as communicated by the Creative Services Director.
Responsibilities:
-Create marketing strategies based on research that include specific goals and promotion plans.
-Write scripts that are clear, easy to read and in the tone and style of our respective news brands.
-Research promoted stories, check copy for accuracy, and review scripts with news executives.
-Include video descriptions in all scripts, explain shot sequences and graphic layout plans.
-Operate department cameras to deliver in focus, properly exposed, color balanced photography.
-Direct all aspects of talent presentation including lighting, location, wardrobe and make-up.
-Manage outside production budget, track and report equipment rental costs, stock footage, etc.
-Advanced video editing skills with Adobe Premiere, basic motion design skills with After Effects.
-Back-up promotion coordinator on Wide Orbit traffic system and promo inventory management.
-Back-up topical news producers writing, shooting and editing daily teases as necessary.
-Create ongoing social media posts including “behind the scenes” video from promo shoots.
-Produce community event and event proof of performance promotion featuring station talent.
-Assist Creative Services Director organizing the daily workflow of producers and designers.
Qualifications:
-Experience working in a television newsroom or creative services department.
-An interest in local news and a familiarity with the rules of journalism.
-Knowledgeable in advertising concepts and techniques.
-A detailed and artistic eye for graphic design, type layout and color.
-The ability to tell stories, in a compelling way.
-Must be willing to submit to a background check
-Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States
