Overview:
Location: Denver, CO (KDVR/KWGN)
Reports To: Sales Director
The Local Sales Manager is responsible for growing local broadcast and digital revenue, achieving budget and share goals against both, through a team of local sellers. This motivating leader will report directly to the Director of Sales.
Responsibilities:
• Effectively lead and motivate a team of Account Executives in the achievement of their individual revenue budgets and goals as well as the team's revenue budget and goals
• Accurately forecast team broadcast and integreated digital revenue
• Recruit, hire and retain highly talented Account Executives
• Implement station yield management practices
• Direct team new business efforts including rewarding performance, identifying performance gaps and coaching to success
• Effectively implement techniques provided by 3rd party vendors and partners that assist in achievement of revenue goals
• Provide timely coaching and feedback to insure goal achievement and career growth of Account Executives
• Actively work and role play with Account Executives on sale negotiations, presentations, packaging prospecting and cold calling
• Establish and maintain deep rooted relationships with local clients and agenices at all levels
• Efectively implement Belo sales processes and systems across the team
• Maximize and motivate sales assistant(s) to deliver world class service for the team and clients
Qualifications:
Essential Qualifications include the ability to:
• Achieve goals through others actions and abilities
• Analyze issues thoroughly in order to make sound business decisions and solve problems effectively
• Take initaitve and make decisions without daily guidance
• Work in a fast paced environment; handle multiple challenges simultaneously
• Effectively communicate with others; present ideas, facts and technical information clearly
• Actively listen to understand all points of view
The most qualified candidate will also possess:
• College degree in Business Administration, Communications or related field
• 4 years work experience within a broadcast television station, prior management experience preferred
• Demonstrated leadership capability that has motivated teams
• A creative mind with a proven ability to generate revenue for the company and advertisers
• Excellent analytical skills and advanced knowledge of television sales software systems and processes
• Ability to communicate effective and persausive sale presentations
• Must be willing to submit to a background check
• Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States
