Overview:
Location: Denver, CO
Reports To: General Manager
CSD is responsible for developing the KDVR and KGWN brand messages across all media. Originate big creative ideas and be able to execute efficiently and economically. Must be a terrific collaborator and motivator of creative teams and individuals. Should be effective and comfortable managing production teams and thoroughly versed in all aspects of the creative process. Must be laser focused on the brands and able to drive on-air and digital strategies that produce measurable results. Position reports to station VP/GM.
Responsibilities:
• Directs the day-to-day efforts of the creative team based on established goals.• Develop and boost the creative level and output of all department members.• Insures that creative staff’s daily execution is focused on the strategies and objectives of established brand.• Inspires and leads breakthrough work that is a ‘pace-setter’ in the Denver market.• Develops creative excellence for all on-air and off-air messaging.• Works with news department to insure quality and consistency across all news broadcasts• Manages the overall branding and marketing efforts for two televisions stations, KDVR and KWGN, and associated digital channels, websites and apps. Marketing expertise needed in all mediums.• Current on all technologies and production trends• Handles budgeting for Creative Services. Makes capital recommendations for Creative Services hardware and software purchases.• Supervises purchase of outside media and social channels for station advertising and supervises the creation of branded campaigns.• Expertise in all aspects of social and digital media marketing.• Works with the networks to implement tie-ins with network programming.• Strong focus on broadcast news and comparative merits and value in the market.• Daily contact with most station departments.• Oversee and drive execution of community service initiatives.• Supervises all writers, producers and editors, including commercial production.
Qualifications:
• Minimum 10 years creative/advertising/production experience in on-air promotion at a network or major market television station including supervisory experience.
• Undergraduate degree in advertising, marketing, communications or a related field is preferred.
• Solid brand development experience and execution.
• Knowledge and ability to effectively develop strategy, conceptualize ideas, supervise all aspects of original and derivative production.
• Ability to maintain a strong and collaborative relationship with creative team and a variety of internal and external parties.
• Must be willing to submit to a background check
• Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States
