Description: Florida State University's prestigious on-campus movie theater, the Student Life Cinema, is looking for a new Media Technician/Projection Supervisor. The employee in this position is responsible for daily film projection, audio systems and equipment maintenance in the Askew Student Life Center and will receive and pre-test Digital Cinema packages, blu-ray, DVDs and other media, as well as assemble and disassemble film prints when 35mm is used. They also maintain inventory and healthy operation of film, computer & sound equipment and serve as staff support for evening operations, assisting with AV training and supervision of theater managers and other projectionists in addition to general building staff for presentation set-ups in meeting rooms. They coordinate theater set-ups for special events with outside departments and organizations, are responsible for handling on-screen advertising sales. They will also research and recommend AV equipment upgrades and maintain the most up to date knowledge of theater projection technology. Anticipated schedule may include occasional added evenings or weekends when necessary.
