FT Social Media Manager Wanted for YouTube Channel
Fine Brothers Entertainment is looking for a smart, resourceful, hands-on & dedicated person to join our company full-time as a Social Media Manager.
Now, before you jump in and click reply because you know the difference between Snapchat & Vine, please read through the rest of this listing to make sure you're comfortable with all the responsibilities we assign to this role here at FBE. We're not trying to be condescending here, this job just has a ton of layers.
Why Should I Apply?
Our company has been a pioneer in the digital space for 10 years, recently expanding offices and moving our 25+ full-time employees to Burbank. If you're not familiar with who we are, check out our main channel ''TheFineBros''. This channel alone has over 11 million subscribers, and well over 2 billion views so far. Oh, and our first TV show just premiered on Nickelodeon.
In other words, our incredibly talented team of writers, assistants, editors & producers are continually producing solid tv-quality content online already; now it's your turn to help us grow even faster.
The Gritty Details:
This position is full-time in house on-site in Burbank. Our work weeks are Sunday through Thursday and start at 9am (until 7pm usually). On the upside, there is an hour lunch in there somewhere where you can peace out and collect your thoughts. Oh, and we have a bunch of old gaming consoles, so if you want to spend your lunch break playing Mario Kart (N64 or Wii U), that's around. Other than that, the benefits are slim. We have a filtered water cooler and lots of snacks from Costco around. That's pretty neat.
Job Responsibilities:
- Upload and annotate every one of our 12-15 videos we publish to our various channels every week
- Analyze and generate daily reports based on fan engagement, press coverage, & viewer feedback
- Draft and publish all social media marketing for our videos
- Continually monitor YouTube platform for bugs & site changes
- Pitch & create original content for distribution across all our social media accounts
- Collect and sort fan responses and feedback for future episodes
- Manage and train other Social Media department assistants & interns (eventually)
The Expectations:
While this position is ''Social Media Manager,'' you will in fact be incredibly hands-on for the responsibilities listed above, doing most if not all of them yourself. You should be fascinated by the power of Social Media, and looking to pursue a career in Social Media Management specifically.
This role will include equal parts ''YouTube Uploader,'' ''Community Manager,'' and ''Social Media Producer,'' along with a dozen other hats. The ideal candidate would be very familiar with the YouTube platform specifically, an amazing multitasker, and incredibly detail oriented.
You must be comfortable working under tight deadlines and know how to troubleshoot issues on the fly without silently staring like a deer in the headlights at your monitor until someone asks you what's wrong. In general, making the same mistake twice is a huge bummer for us.
To be considered for this role you should:
- Be fluent in YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Vine, Tumblr, Google+, Instagram, & Snapchat
- Know the strengths and weaknesses of each of the platforms above
- Know what ello is, and why it will or won't work
- Be comfortable drafting engaging social media messaging (i.e. you can write fun tweets)
- Be able to calmly and proactively manage a daily schedule of a 100 tasks & deadlines
- Be comfortable pitching new ideas & social media strategies
- Have reliable transportation to and from our offices in Burbank
- Have friends or significant others that don't mind you spending long hours away from home
- Be fluent on Mac OS X & basic Mac software
- Thorough knowledge of Google Apps and Google Drive (sheets, docs, slides, etc)
The Compensation:
For total transparency, you should know before applying that we are a start-up company. This means that although we have been growing strongly, we are not in a position where we can compete financially with the major networks or studios. You must have a passion to work with creative minds and the new media space to be happy working here with our incredible team. Your work will be seen and heard by MILLIONS of people every week… that's pretty crazy… so hopefully that helps motivate you. If this would just be a stepping stone for you to something else a few months down the line, or what you really want to do is act or direct... this probably isn't the right gig for you. We're looking for people that want to learn and grow with us. That being said, please send your salary requirements in your email to us to be considered.
Extra Credit:
Finally, if you want to stand out from the competition, make sure the first line in your email includes your favorite cartoon, and include your Top 3 favorite YouTubers somewhere in your body text before you sign off (and possibly be prepared to defend your choices should you be interviewed). That's about it. Additionally, please include job code: FBESM15 in your second line. Thanks for reading this post this far. Good luck!
