Full Time Job
Are you an amazing Project Manager that loves working with talent in the morning and editors at night? Or vice-versa? Or just editors ALL DAY LONG? Are you interested in learning the ropes and eventually show-running one of the internet's most popular long-running series?
Fine Brothers Entertainment is looking for a smart, passionate & dedicated person to join our company full-time as a Producer on our main unscripted React series. These shows, which include the award winning Kids React, Teens React, Elders React, and YouTubers React, are the flagship shows on a channel that has over 11 million subscribers already and averages over 100 million views a month.
Being a producer means a lot of things to a lot of different people, but to us, it means you're the person responsible for every single aspect of of these shows. From helping pitch content, to scheduling & casting, to shooting & interviewing, to sitting with editors, and eventually uploading, marketing, and monitoring viewer response. There is of course a support team involved, but you are the captain.
Why Should I Apply?
Our company has been a pioneer in the digital space for 10 years, recently expanding offices and moving our 28 full-time employees to Burbank. If you're not familiar with who we are, check out our main channel ''TheFineBros'' (youtube.com/thefinebros), currently ranked in the Top 25 YouTube channels worldwide. Oh, and our first TV show just premiered on Nickelodeon this week (in addition to several other pilots and a feature film currently in production).
In other words, our incredibly talented team of writers, assistants, editors & producers are continually producing solid tv-quality content online already; now it's your turn to help us grow even faster.
The Gritty Details:
This position is full-time in house on-site in Burbank. Our work weeks are Sunday through Thursday and start at 9am. More than likely most of your days will go past 7pm, as you're fully responsible for everything your team is delivering that day. On the upside, there is an hour lunch in there somewhere where you can peace out and collect your thoughts. Oh, and we have a bunch of old gaming consoles, so if you want to spend your lunch break playing NBA Jam or Mario Kart, that's around. Other than that, the benefits are slim. We have a filtered water cooler. That's pretty neat.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee day-to-day operations of the main React series production pipeline
- Manage and maintain the daily and weekly schedules and call sheets
- Manage and oversee PAs, APs, and editors working for you
- Coordinate and work to implement feedback from Executive Producers
- Assist with the hiring and interview process for all employees and interns within your department
- Manage the casting and coordination of shoots
- Managing budgets and team resources
- Creating production bibles and documentation
- Run the physical production and filming of all shoots (including interviewing talent from behind camera)
- Researching and pitching content and episode topics
- Coordinate and schedule time with editors
- Review and approve various assets
- Run and manage brand deals and integrations
- Copywriting and research
- Quality control of final exports
- Manage and troubleshoot the various processes the company has with our social network sites including YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat, Tumblr, Instagram and more.
- Become an expert in all things YouTube, not just features, but uploading, engaging with viewers, and even staying on top of the community at large even outside of our company of other YouTubers and other viral videos and content.
- Review and Analyze viewer response
The Expectations:
You must have an intimate knowledge of production from years of hands-on producing experience, either during college or once you graduated. You must be extremely personable and comfortable working with a wide range of talent from all different age groups, from children as young as 4 to our amazing Elders. You must be comfortable working under tight deadlines and know how to troubleshoot any issue on the fly without silently staring like a deer in the headlights at your monitor until someone asks you what's wrong. In general, making the same mistake twice is a huge bummer for us. Our EPs are perfectionists who know their product inside and out, and if your ego cannot withstand numerous rounds of feedback on your work, this is not the job for you. In addition, you should:
- Have reliable transportation to and from our offices in Burbank
- Be familiar with YouTube and the YouTube community
- Have friends or significant others that don't mind you spending long hours away from home
- Be fluent on Mac OS X & basic Mac software, Gmail & Google Docs
- Have a great sense of humor, and be fun to work around for 12+ hours at a time when needed
- Any specific technical knowledge related to cameras, design or post-production is a huge plus
The Compensation:
For total transparency, you should know before applying that we are a startup company. This means that although we have been growing strongly, we are not in a position where we can compete financially with the major networks or studios. You must have a passion for online video and the new media space to be happy working here with our incredible team. You must also be looking for a potentially long-term commitment. Our shows run 52 weeks a year. If you're serial freelancer who gets antsy after a couple months, or you're not excited or interested in this ongoing weekly challenge, or If this would just be a stepping stool for you to something else a year down the line, this probably isn't the right gig for you. We're looking for people that want to learn and grow with us. That being said, please send your salary requirements in your email to us to be considered.
Extra Credit:
Any technical talent is a huge bonus for us, including familiarity with a wide range of cameras, lighting, post-production software and the YouTube platform. Any previous history coordinating talent or working directly with editors is also a plus. Finally, if you want to stand out from the competition, make sure the first line in your cover letter includes the job code FBE-CP15, and include your Top 3 favorite YouTube channels somewhere in your body text before you sign off. That's about it. Thanks for reading this post this far. Good luck!
