Fine Brothers Entertainment is looking for a full-time Post Production / IT Assistant to join our Digital Entertainment division. The ideal candidate is extremely detailed oriented, has no ego, and doesn't blink when it comes to researching technical problems they may have never heard of. This job is half scheduling, half troubleshooting, half IT support, half quality control and half high fives. Please don't do the math on that last sentence.
Details:
Assists in the day to day activities and coordination of the Post Production and IT departments. This position is primarily geared around the administrative end of a Post Production company rather than the creative aspects of editing. This position will be split between working in the Post Production and IT departments, so the ideal candidate should have experience and interest in both fields.
Responsibilities Include:
- Assist with basic tasks such as building calendars, updating documentation, filling spreadsheets, asset & media management, backups, etc.
- Assisting with the research, development and implementation of Post workflows and processes, and helping to build/update documentation detailing such information.
- Setup and deployment of Apple based hardware, including iMacs and Mac Pros, and configuring all necessary software and components.
- Troubleshooting computer hardware, software or network issues, researching forums/help centers and submitting support tickets, tracking internal IT support tickets, etc.
- Working to identify and report potential cybersecurity threats and working to create and enforce new policies and best-practices.
Requirements:
- At least 1-2 years of experience within the entertainment industry and post production (including internships).
- Strong knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro and Creative Cloud applications, as well as FCP 7.
- Strong knowledge of all things Google: Search, Gmail, Drive, Groups, etc. as well as Mac OS X and Windows operating systems and networking concepts.
- Practical knowledge of file-based post production workflows, and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues relating to NLEs, DIT, codecs and related audio/video applications & equipment.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Is meticulous, technical, organized, and creative at the same time.
- Is a team player and able to succeed in a fast pace, high pressure environment, with a high sense of urgency, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.
- Is an ambitious self-starter who is able to tackle issues independently, with the ability to follow direction and willing to work overtime and weekends as needed.
- Has strong troubleshooting skills and proven ability to use the tools at hand to research and resolve problems.
- Has an insured vehicle and valid driver's license, and has the ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds
- Loves YouTube and the internet culture.
Bonus Skills:
- Familiarity with Windows Server 2012 environments, including user permissions, iSCSI targeting, shadow copies, audit policies, etc.
- Previous experience as a Post Assistant, Post Coordinator, or IT Coordinator in a professional Post Production facility.
- Has a strong knowledge of encoding practices and the wide array of video codecs, containers, formats, etc.
- Has experience building/maintaining PC and networking systems, and can name off most components inside a computer.
- Experience with SANs and file sharing in video production environments.
