STAFF AUDITOR, CONTRACT COMPLIANCE
DESCRIPTION
Film Musicians Secondary Markets Fund seeks a professional to join our Contract Compliance Department.
A fantastic opportunity for an experienced residual/royalty audit professional. The Fund is a dynamic 501(c)(6) not-for-profit organization providing support to film musicians and the entertainment community worldwide by ensuring the collection, processing, and distribution of residuals generated by their talent and services.
The Staff Auditor will work closely with the current auditing staff, collections staff and department management in all aspects of collections' reviews and daily auditing operations relating to residuals payable for the distribution of films, television programs and digital productions covered by the American Federation of Musicians' collective bargaining agreements; including but not limited to analyzing and compiling historical sales and residual data, residual payment reconciliations, reviewing contracts for relevant terms, as well as the following:
SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Perform review of incoming residuals statements and corresponding residuals payments sent to the Fund from Producers for accuracy as well as quarter over quarter activity and present findings, including any variances, and notifications of newly contributing product to Contract Compliance Department and Participant Services Operations management;
• Perform routine quality control review of allocated incoming residuals payments to ensure proper allocation of films for Contract Compliance Department and Participant Services Operations;
• Maintain Compliance audit, bankruptcy, litigation files and spreadsheets, on a current basis, to track progress of each disposition;
• Generate Compliance audit ''Engagement Letters'' for department management approval;
• Research and prepare lists of film and television titles for audit testing and corresponding revenue/residual analysis spreadsheets;
• Prepare the list of obligated titles for bankruptcies and litigation;
• Assist department management with auditor and attorney requests;
• Generate draft and final agreed-upon procedures report(s);
• Generate final audit report ''Packages'' for submission to Auditees;
• As assigned by Contract Compliance Department management, perform desk audits of contributing Producers to review compliance with the residual payment requirements of the relevant collective bargaining agreement and prepare reports of any findings;
• Perform research using various external research sources and internal data sources;
• Develop and maintain familiarity with all applicable Contracts and Collective Bargaining Agreements.
REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor's Degree required and completion of core accounting preferred.
• Prior residual/royalty audit experience preferred.
• Knowledge of the entertainment industry, as it relates to film, television and digital media residuals, preferred.
• The ability to read, understand and interpret collective bargaining agreements and related contracts.
• Advanced MS Excel skills; high level of comfort working with large amounts of data; proficient in MS Word.
• Must be well organized, detail oriented, and a self-starter.
• Exceptional analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills.
• Must have integrity, honesty and ethical mentality.
