COMPLIANCE SPECIALIST, CONTRACT COMPLIANCE
DESCRIPTION
Film Musicians Secondary Markets Fund seeks a professional to join our Contract Compliance Department.
A fantastic opportunity for an experienced residual/royalty professional. The Fund is a dynamic 501(c)(6) not-for-profit organization providing support to film musicians and the entertainment community worldwide by ensuring the collection, processing, and distribution of residuals generated by their talent and services.
The Compliance Specialist, Contract Compliance will work closely with the Compliance staff and management in all aspects of daily Compliance operations, including but not limited to: enforcement of the residual provisions of a Union Collective Bargaining Agreement and processing of Union documentation.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop and maintain familiarity with all applicable Contracts and Agreements
• Enforce compliance of Contracts and Agreements through letters and other types of communications
• Research and obtain information on production companies, distributors, musicians, signatories, and other related guilds or unions
• Contact producers/production companies regarding status of payments
• Ensure timely response to correspondence received from obligated companies
• Utilize all available data sources (including microfiche/film) for research purposes
• Utilize AS400 for tracking payments
• Track and maintain liquidated damages spreadsheet and various AS400 reports
• Keep current on scheduled tasks in Film Tracking System (FTS)
• Maintain/update digital contract compliance company files
• Enter payment information in FTS and send internal paid memos. Enter/update titles in FTS that have not been paid.
• Assist Director of Contract Compliance with special projects, as assigned, including prepare comparative analysis on future films
• Process musician contracts and assumption agreements
• Correspond with AFM, musicians, musician locals, and Pension Fund to locate and obtain scoring session contracts for collection efforts
• Search internet and available publications for related research and supplemental market releases; schedule follow-up activity on FTS
• Assist other Fund departments with research
• Serve as Custodian for off-site storage containers. Maintain in/out log book of requested documents. Coordinate deliveries/pickup of containers and internal requests for documents
• Work closely with Imaging Department to coordinate work flow in FTS, and process all incoming documentation for scanning
• Enter recently received documentation information (both old and new product) into FTS and schedule follow-up tasks as needed. This includes, but is not limited to, documentation related to New-Use, Theatrical, TV, and Videotape product.
• Contact payroll companies when AFM contracts are unaccompanied by assumption agreements
REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor's Degree
• Minimum 4 years related work experience required
• Knowledge of the entertainment industry, as it relates to film and television residuals
• Proficient in MS Excel and Word
• Must be well organized, detail oriented, and a self-starter
• Must have integrity, honesty and ethical mentality
