Search for Technical Specialist jobs in Orlando-FL
The Technical Specialist will work closely with supervisors and producers to ensure hardware and software resources are functioning properly and are appropriately allocated to maximize efficiency for overall studio priorities and deadlines. This will include monitoring and managing all render farm machines and job queues, ensuring sufficient disk space usage for production requirements, the Technical Specialist will also need to work flexible hours and escalate issues to team members after hours and/or troubleshoot the issue to find solutions to minimize down time.
Responsibilities include:
1. Manage the rendering of all shots in a CG production pipeline.
2. Provide general technical support on studio hardware and software.
3. Identify, report, and find solutions to technical rendering and compositing errors.
4. Interact with facility production and department supervisors.
5. Participate in problem solving/tool building activities to maximize efficiency.
6. Maintain an excellent understanding of studio tools and software and industry trends.
7. Prep files for delivery to clients (conforming to client delivery specifications).
8. Upload/Download files from various transfer sites
9. Inventory, ship, and track physical media (hard drives) sent out client and partner studios.
10. Monitor and manage disk space on servers.
11. Collate render farm utilization data & reporting to Technical Supervisor.
12. Assist in the administration and maintenance of the studio and network; render computers,
servers, software, printers, workstations, miscellaneous hardware and computer attachments.
13. Maintain high security standards for confidential studio assets.
Qualifications:
1. High degree of computer literacy and understanding of server networks and data I/O.
2. College degree in a directly related field or equivalent experience.
3. Relevant industry experience (IT/TD/TA/Render Wrangler).
4. Good communication and problem-solving skills (verbal and written).
5. Capacity to take responsibility and ability to manage and prioritize workload.
6. Good visual eye and attention to detail.
7. Experience with Maya, Houdini, Nuke, Deadline, Unity is a plus.
8. MEL and/or PYTHON scripting experience is a plus.
