FOX40 is looking for a traffic anchor to deliver on-air reports during our morning news. This person is responsible for gathering and delivering critical information about traffic incidents and related news stories. Top candidate must be adept at ad-libbing information conversationally and disseminating information unscripted in a compelling storytelling style. Candidate will need to report traffic on all media platforms including on-line, mobile and social media. Must be available to appear at community events, speaking engagements, promotions and other FOX40 functions, and as such, represent FOX40 well to the public. We are looking for someone who can also fill-in anchor newscasts, report live from the field and anchor live segments in-house during FOX40's 5.5 hour weekday morning newscasts.
Collect, write and narrate information regarding breaking news and daily traffic coverage
•Conduct live reports and interviews during newscasts regarding traffic and traffic-related stories
•Communicate with the station's traffic information provider and CHP
•Collaborate with producers, anchors and the assignment desk
•Produce content for Twitter, Facebook and other social media sites
•Perform other duties as assigned
•Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience required
•2+ years live, on-air reporting experience
•Knowledge of Northern California's major roads, highways and traffic patterns preferred
•Demonstrated ability to deliver clear and efficient information in a live newscast
•Strong organizational skills
•Ability to work in a rapid, fast-paced environment
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•Morning shift requires 4am start time.
•Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings and holidays
•Work on franchise and special report segments after daily traffic duties are complete.
•Required to dress in a polished and professional manner every day
