Escape Entertainment is hiring enthusiastic, responsible customer service professionals with outgoing personalities who possess a keen interest in live gaming experiences. Specifically, our ''Game Masters'' will act as hosts for the groups who visit our NYC branch to enjoy our unique, live escape game experience. Our Game Masters will expected to be lively and upbeat while working in what can best be described as an event host capacity. Although ''performance'' will not necessarily be part of this role there will be ample opportunity for creative contribution/expression and actors, gaming fans, adventure lovers and those with ties to the Arts are encouraged to apply. Hours are part-time permanent to start but as the business builds, there will likely be an opportunity for full-time permanent hours.
Reporting to the Director of Operations, our Game Masters will have the following responsibilities:
*Greeting customers and providing an upbeat orientation prior to customers embarking on their Escape Entertainment adventure.
*Monitoring customers as they progress through our games while providing suggestions to guide them through the challenges as they attempt to accomplish their mission which is beating the clock and escaping from their game room within 60 minutes.
*Leading a short but thorough debriefing session with customers following their game experiences and guiding them through post-game activities, including listening and noting their feedback, photo opps and social media engagement. Moving along customer flow to ensure that game rooms are ready for the next reservation.
*Assisting the Director of Operations in day-to-day management including participating in marketing and promotional campaigns.
*Other supporting duties as assigned.
Our ideal Game Masters will have the following qualifications:
*Prior customer service experience.
*Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
*A sincere commitment to ensuring customers are well-attended to with a warm, open, approachable demeanor that will set the tone for each game and foster a fun environment.
*A can-do attitude as a member of a team whose goal is to establish this business as the premier live escape game experience.
*Availability to work 20-40 hours per week including evenings and weekends. (This is a MUST.) Staff schedule is likely to fluctuate in terms of specific days of the week assigned.
*Availability to start on or about June 1.
