Search for Senior Royalty Accountant jobs in West Hollywood-CA
The Senior Royalty/Settlement Account reports to the Controller and is responsible for all Licensing Division Accounting plus the preparation of royalty statements to our clients and the review of key third party settlements with Epic.
Responsibilities:
• Efficiently administers the royalty provisions of our artist and photography agreements including the preparation, recording and timely issuance of statements as required by contract.
• Reviews and books all incoming third party settlements from distribution partners.
• Administers, reviews or prepares settlements with Partners and Third Party Distributors.
• Works with partners to streamline third party settlements both ensuring compliance with contracts and efficient internal reporting
• Maintains the full accounting process for Licensing business unit including the production of P&L's, and Licensing Deal Analysis
• Maintains the licensing database of worldwide licensing deals
• Maintains databases of third party settlements and artist royalty statements.
• Provides month end royalty accruals for all divisions
• Actively manages the flow of financial information to our clients while providing timely responses to their inquiries as questions arise.
• Provides direction to other staff members on transaction coding to ensure proper handling for royalty purposes.
• Produces models and cash flows to support new deal analysis.
• Assist's the Controller and other Executive Team members in architecting and setting up business systems to capture, process, track and summarize financial information required to both run the company and provide timely reporting to our clients.
• Manages the company's key asset classes including prepaid royalties and receivables (as the latter relate to distribution partner settlements)
Other Qualifications:
• Six or more years of progressive financial experience with general accounting, financial reporting, financial analysis, budgeting, and royalties.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Advanced Excel Skills
• Excellent presentation and communication skills, both written and oral.
• Experience with database development and administration a plus
• Previous experience in music merchandising and royalty accounting is a plus.
• Ability and willingness to wear many hats; has a roll up your sleeves can do attitude
• Must be a team player.
• Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
