KCEC Univision Colorado is looking for a bilingual experienced Technical Director/ Editor for one of our award winning newscasts. The candidate is responsible for the clean execution of all live-to-tape shows, and for maintaining overall broadcast quality video output. The vision switcher/ technical director will prepare effects/transitions and perform switching between the different video sources - cameras, video inserts (b-roll), graphics, etc. - during live broadcasts utilizing a vision switcher and associated control room equipment.
The ideal candidate will lead the news technical team during live broadcasts. The technical director will also perform video editing for headlines, teases and news videos for the shows.
Requirements:
• Degree in video production, Film & TV, broadcast, electronic media, or similar program, or equivalent education/technical training/professional experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the field.
• Must be willing to work and live in the Denver Metro area.
• Must be fluent in Spanish (speak, read & write).
• Must be willing to submit a background investigation.
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
• Punctuality and Dependability are essential.
• Knowledge of iNews, Adobe Premier and Final cut
• Thorough knowledge of studio operations as well as planning and executing shows.
• Proficient with the operation of a video switcher, cameras, and computers.
• Working knowledge of video production equipment such as character & graphics generators, video recorder, video router, studio HD cameras and audio board.
• Ability to multitask, pay attention to details, think on your feet and make decisions quickly, solve problems, communicate clearly, remain calm and act professionally and obtain results under the pressures of time-sensitive live production.
