All candidates must be highly motivated, talented and experienced PR professionals with directly related public relations skills. Candidates should have a strong work ethic, extensive media and industry contacts, exceptional writing skills, and a well-documented record of outstanding tech placements in top- tier outlets. Commitment and passion for the industry with a full understanding of strategic media relations is mandatory. What We Are Looking For:
Senior Account Executive with Tech PR Experience
Roles & Responsibilities:
-Support Tech and Consumer Lifestyle division by handling multiple accounts independently with the ability to perform within a fast-paced, multi-priority setting adhering to deadlines
-Develop & maintain solid relationships with journalists, bloggersand industry influencers
-Strong pitching skills (both verbal and written)
-Secure consistent and quality media placements and news stories in short-lead, regional and long-lead outlets
-Act as primary day-to-day client and media contact
-Experience handling press for clients (must have strong tech and/or B2B media contacts)
-Ability to effectively organize and manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously with a positive and proactive attitude
-Ability to think and plan strategically, including big ideas in brand strategy and PR
-Plan, develop and advise clients on integrated and measurable PR programs and have the ability to conceptualize, create and maintain -PR strategies
-Develop non-traditional PR tactics that include influencer programming, event activations, and on brand partnerships
-Advise clients on brand positioning and messaging
-Ability to manage and mentor junior staff
-Ability to sign new clients and assist with new business development
Qualifications & Desired Skills:
-3+ years of directly related PR experience (position dependent on level of experience)
-Career focused with a passion in Tech, B2B and Consumer Lifestyle PR
-Perform within a fast-paced, multi-priority setting
-Exceptional verbal and writing skills for pitches, press releases, media alerts, proposals and client strategies, media briefing and messaging documents. AP Style proficient
-Extensive relationships across all media platforms including top-tier tech media, trade media, regional/national dailies, business and broadcast (national and regional), in addition to high-traffic online outlets and blogs
-Media relations skills and established network of contacts within tech, business, and lifestyle outlets
-Creative and strategic approach to pitching and ability/proven track record to deliver feature and profile stories in key media (TechCrunch, Mashable, Wired, Pando, etc.)
-Must have industry contacts that can translate into event and partnership opportunities
-Must work well in a team environment but also work independently, meeting goals and deadlines
-Must have a strong understanding of the editorial calendar, current events, pop culture, seasonal and celebrity trends, tech trends, etc. to effectively and proactively contribute to story angle development that is strategic and timely, maximizing product placement and brand feature placements across national, regional, online, trade and broadcast outlets
-Ability to develop and nurture client confidence and relationships
-Have client relation skills and a professional demeanor in and out of the office
