PURPOSE: Responsible for performing/overseeing all payroll processes, procedures and compliance/reporting functions and benefits administration.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Prepare semi-monthly payroll and ensure the accuracy of all data produced. Schedule and coordinate special payrolls as needed.
• Maintain vacation accruals and other various reports
• Administer the payroll side of 401(k), 125 Cafeteria, and Benefits Administration
• Stay current on state and federal laws and respective compliance issues.
• Manage and submit union reports as requested.
• Liaise with department heads regarding payroll matters.
• Manage year-end payroll procedures (reviews W-2's, etc.)
• Critically analyze payroll processes and makes recommendations for increased efficiency and effectiveness. Create and maintain procedure manuals.
• Manage audits and compliance testing of 401k, worker's compensation, etc.
• Special projects as necessary
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Minimum three years of ADP payroll experience working for a company of comparable size.
• Familiarity with benefit programs and payroll administration.
• Expert user of ADP payroll systems (time and attendance).
• Must be proficient in Excel.
• Basic knowledge of accounting and benefits administration.
• Able to prioritize, remain organized and stay informed of recent developments in payroll law.
• Excellent communication skills required.
