Job Purpose:
The Vice President, Business & Legal Affairs, Endemol Beyond USA is responsible for all legal aspects of the digital division of a major independent media company.
Job Responsibilities:
• Negotiating and documenting deals with digitaltalent, and traditional talent involved in digital productions, to beincluded in Company’s premium content networks (“PCN”)
• Handling all production legal work for original digitalcontent
• Handling digital syndication, licensing, distributionand investment deals for the digital division
• General corporate legal work of the digital division(NDAs, LOIs/MOUs, JV’s, trademark applications,vendor agreementsetc.)
• Tracking all legal work, calendaring and relatedcorrespondence for the digital division
• Position reports to General Counsel of Endemol Shine NorthAmerica, with a dotted line report to Endemol Beyond USA, COO.
Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum offive years experience as a lawyer in theentertainment/media business, with at least three of those years in the digital field.
• Juris Doctorate (JD)
• California Bar Admission
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
Desired Characteristics:
• Prior experience negotiating digital content distribution deals and deals with digital talent
• Meaningful knowledge of the digital syndication, distribution and PCN marketplace
• Strong and effective negotiating skills and excellent drafting skills
• Detailed oriented and demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment
• Demonstrated experience and willingness to perform at a high level as a team player
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced in-house environment
• Good overall business judgment and self-confidence.
• Superior organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize work
• Demonstrated ability to execute and follow-through
• Demonstrated initiative; self-starter and accountable
