Job Purpose:
The Steve Harvey Show seeks a forward-thinking Social Media Manager to manage and grow the show's social media presence. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the social media landscape and how to apply the latest social trends to the entertainment space. Additionally, this position requires strong creative skills, particularly in pop culture and comedy, and will be responsible for developing compelling yet executable social media ideas on a daily basis. The position is full-time and based in Chicago. It will have a dual report to both the Senior Digital Producer, Steve Harvey TV in Chicago and the Vice President, Digital & Social Media, Endemol Shine North America in Los Angeles.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute innovative creative ideas based on the show's production schedule, with the goal of engaging with social media audiences and driving viewers to the show
• Provide daily, ongoing management for the show's social media channels, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, SnapChat, Tumblr, Pinterest, Vine and Periscope
• Publish daily content, optimize and analyze the show's YouTube channel
• Keep a tab on social media activity around the show and relay feedback internally as needed
• Track, analyze, optimize and report on social media analytics
• Compile monthly social media analytics report (Facebook, Twitter and YouTube) for the show, and analyze trends and growth stats
Skills & Qualifications:
• Based in Chicago
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Two to three years' experience in social media, preferably with a media, entertainment and/or content company
• Strong writing and creative development experience in the pop culture and/or comedy spaces
• Savvy about current social media trends and best practices
• Exceptional attitude, organization and ability to multi-task are a must
• Team player; ability to collaborate effectively with various teams
• Knowledge of various tools of the trade (e.g. content management systems, social media analytics platforms, etc.)
• Demonstrated success executing various social media campaigns across multiple platforms
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience with photo editing software such as Photoshop and basic design capabilities for social media is a plus
• Experience working in a talent/celebrity driven environment is a plus
