Elk Grove Television, an award-winning government access television station in Elk Grove Village, is looking for a part-time unpaid intern to start as soon as possible. It will be more on an as-needed basis, as there are not usually big shoots every week. Current college students who need to obtain college credit or recent graduates looking to gain some hands-on experience are strongly encouraged to apply. This is a 100% hands-on internship, with most of the work being setting up for multi-camera shoots and running camera. Please read through everything before you apply!
Job Requirements:
* Flexible schedule -- you will be helping out anywhere from Friday night high school sports games to weekday morning/afternoon various studio or on-location shoots (very few weekend or holiday shoots, though)
* Able to work at least one day a week (if it's a sports game, expect an 8 hour day approximately). Some weeks we may not need you, but if you need a certain amount of credit hours per week, we can find something for you to do.
* At least a little bit of television experience and knowledge is necessary
* Reliable transportation to and from Elk Grove Village. There are no Metra or CTA stations/stops near our station, unfortunately.
* Interest in the television production field, willingness to get your hands a little dirty, and the ability to lift equipment.
* Being proactive and dependable is a must -- we are here to help you learn, but you must be willing to do the work
Job duties:
* Helping out our employees on various shoots, which will include setting up equipment, running cameras, tear-down, etc.
* Producing, shooting, and editing PSAs to run on cable
* Basically being our right-hand man/woman
