The L.A. native began her career assisting producers Richard Perry and Roy Thomas Baker. She then joined Gold Mountain Entertainment, where she coordinated and supervised such soundtracks as ''Bachelor Party'', ''Dirty Dancing'' and ''Miami Vice.'' From the success of these projects, Gold Mountain Management was spawned with artists ranging from Kiss to Bonnie Raitt to Nirvana.
Camarata went on to launch Eclipse Entertainment in 1992, managing artists such as Peter Frampton and the Sex Pistols. She also supervised music for ''Above the Rim,'' a film featuring songs by Dr. Dre, Tupac Shakur and other hip-hop pioneers.
As president of Jersey Records, a label she co-founded with Danny DeVito, Camarata oversaw such soundtracks as ''Sliding Doors,'' ''Living Out Loud'' and ''Out of Sight.'' In 2000, she produced the critically acclaimed Sex Pistols documentary ''The Filth and The Fury.''
In 2000, Anita became Executive Vice President of Music for MGM, overseeing soundtracks and all aspects of music activities for MGM Pictures and United Artists. In addition to supervising the music needs of its feature, television, video/DVD, interactive and marketing products, she also oversaw the company's various record and publishing catalogues, and guided the revitalization of MGM's master recordings.
