National News Photographer/ Editor-- The E. W. Scripps Company is looking for a National News Photographer/Editor in our new 4pm news program, The Now.
Are you the one we've been looking for? We are building a top-notch, creative, inventive national team to create content for a new outside-the-box, 4 pm national news program.
The Photographer/Editor is a National desk position located in sunny Denver, Colorado.

Skills & Knowledge:
Ability to shoot in the studio and field:
-Applies camera related skills: such as framing and off-the-shoulder movement for overall creative vision
-Sets up shots and operate Glidecam in studio. Proven ability to master accessories such as remote focus system, video senders and receivers.
-Shoots stories and live shots in the field and can operate independently or with a reporter.
-Ability to operate a TVU backpack system or live truck
-Must be able to travel for breaking news assignments
-Proficiency with lighting sets
-Valid driver's license as you will be required to drive company vehicles
Capture and edit visual content
-Ability to edit on FCP X
-Knowledge of various video sharing and streaming sites
-Familiarity with keynote system of graphics
-Must be able to upload and download content
-Strong visual storyteller
-Good editorial judgment
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications or equivalent experience
3-5 years photographer and editor experience in top 50 market
Glidecam experience strongly preferred?
Glidecam operation is physically demanding. The Glidecam apparatus distributes and compensates for the weight of the camera, however, the apparatus itself can weigh approximately 30-50lbs. The weight is distributed across the front of the operator's body during operation. Candidates for this work should have no back problems, no trouble with dizziness or physical orientation and must have the ability to easily lift 40-50lbs. This position requires a high degree of physical mobility and dexterity. In addition, this position requires the operator to stay on their feet for long periods of time.?
Able to drive company vehicle for business purposes. Requires a valid driver's license with no more than four (4) points in the past 36 months, in accordance with company policy, and proof of insurability (must carry liability limits of $100,000 per person/$300,000 per accident/$50,000 property).
