Stats Analyst IIs must have good communication skills. It will be necessary to work well individually and in group settings where ensuring that data is correct in a real-time basis across the newsroom is paramount. Stats Analyst IIs also will need to communicate with team, conference and league sources to correct errors and must keep pushing until they get the right answer.
Responsibilities

• Anticipate potential problems, both nightly and long-term, and come up with potential solutions.
• Communicate quickly and decisively with managers on these issues.
• Have a top-notch reliability record, with demonstrated excellence in these fields: punctuality, attention to schedule, efficient time management, and communication with managers.
• Demonstrate commitment to accuracy
• Demonstrate ability to focus on detailed work for an extended period.
• The standard is 100 percent accuracy.
• Have a thorough knowledge of statistics' role in ESPN products and should be able to regularly propose new ways statistics can be utilized in ESPN storytelling or as premium products for Studio and Digital Media platforms and elsewhere.
Basic Qualifications
• A minimum of 2 years' experience working with statistics, preferably in online, television or print media
• Should have demonstrated ability to set goals and to hold direct reports accountable for meeting those goals.
• Meticulous attention to detail.
• Must have demonstrated excellence working with multiple departments to achieve a common goal.
• Day, night, weekday, weekend and holiday availability for shifts
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Heavy interest in Fantasy games.
Preferred Qualifications
• Team leadership experience.
• In-depth knowledge of ESPN's Digital Media coverage of all sports and games.
• A thorough knowledge of television production usage of data in on-air and research applications.
• Aptitude for working with technology such as data feeds, data warehousing and custom software tools.
• Working knowledge of all ESPN platforms' products and technologies.
Required Education
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Preferred Education
• Bachelor's Degree.
