Our content is used across multiple platforms -- television, digital media, radio, ESPN The Magazine, and ESPN Mobile. We are comprised of four departments: BottomLine, Production Analytics, Production Research and Stats & Analysis.
Stats & Information's Spanish-language team, known as SIG Español, serves all departments providing perspective and context around sporting events and storylines including historical context and statistical analysis for studio shows, BottomLine, and social media that impacts ESPN Deportes and international fans in the U.S. and Latin America.
For the SIG Español Content Manager position, we are looking for someone who is able to combine a passion for sport stats and storylines with an interest in growing and developing our team of bilingual researchers and BottomLine editors in Bristol and remote offices.
On the content side, Managers oversee the allocation of personnel and resources in a deadline-driven production environment. This includes coverage and support for the Spanish BottomLine, research studio shows, events, mobile, and digital platforms. Managers assertively interact with all levels of production and business functions at ESPN, all while reinforcing the department's proactive, solution-oriented reputation. They are expected to develop elite understanding of the company and its business environment in order to make appropriate strategic and tactical decisions that serve the fan and advance ESPN's interests. They work closely with Stats & Information Group management and other leaders in Production and Digital on projects, as required or needed.
The ability to grow and develop people is an equally important aspect of this role. Managers need to be committed to investing the time and care to coach and teach our staff, develop them as people, and build successful professionals for one of the world's largest sports media companies. We believe that great support, honest, straight-talk feedback and holding people accountable is foundational to our success.
Ideal candidates will possess the following traits:
• Elite Spanish-language writing and grammar skills are required for this role. Fluency in reading, speaking and writing Spanish and English is required.

• Knowledge of sports stats and news research methods, as well as how to locate (and when to trust) relevant editorial Web resources for news and associated content.
• Ability to leverage technical and process aptitude to develop and apply elite knowledge of BottomLine's propriety software and technical infrastructure to better serve fans, as well as to drive future innovation and development.
• The ability to make decisions quickly and correctly in deadline situations.
• Capable of establishing buy-in from staff, peers, management and outside groups through the clear communication of priorities and expectations.
• The ability to take proactive action in a newsroom environment.
• Strong people management skills and a demonstrated ability to hold staff accountable to stringent standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to drive personal and team performance in a constantly evolving, matrix-based organization.
