Full Time Job
The ESPN Programming and Ad Sales Finance Department is looking for a Sr. Financial Analyst supporting Digital Ad Sales, ESPN Films (30 for 30, Digital Shorts), ESPY's and X Games. This position reports to the Senior Finance Manager of Ad Sales and is based in NYC.
Responsibilities
• Prepare and manage month close and quarter end reporting, forecasts, budgets, and strategic plans, as well as reports explaining variances between actual results and financial projections.
• Provide periodic reports to management regarding revenue, metrics, and advertiser categories.
• Complete ongoing and periodic deliverables associated with Digital Ad Sales, ESPN Films, ESPY's and X Games, including weekly pacing, bi-weekly reporting, and revenue reclassifications.
• Assist with the day-to-day support, data analysis, and data reconciliation provided to these areas and any other questions for accounting and digital finance.
• Provide P&L input to strategic properties with digital components.
• Work with senior leaders, finance management and peers on strategic and ad hoc projects as they arise.
Basic Qualifications
• Detail oriented and highly organized with the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive projects simultaneously.
• Strong analytical ability and problem solving skills. Highly proficient in Excel modeling.
• Experience in SAP or similar financial reporting tool.
• Experience in SAP Business Objects or similar data analytics / business intelligence tool. Visual dashboarding a plus.
• Experience in Digital Ad Sales systems, such as Google, DoubleClick, FreeWheel, or similar tools.
• Experience with detailed forecasting with the ability to analyze the overall financial picture.
• Excellent organization and communication skills.
• Executive presence and ability to interact with all levels of individuals within an organization.
• Ability to develop internal and external relationships which drive ESPN's day-to-day business.
• 5 years of professional work experience, preferably in a finance or other analytical role.
• Interest or familiarity with both sports media and digital media trends.
Required Education
• Bachelor of Science in Finance, Accounting, or Business
Preferred Education
• Master of Business Administration
