ESPN is looking for a talented and experienced media professional to lead an in-house team and agencies in developing, implementing and assessing strategic, integrated cross-platform media plans that drive business goals.
Responsibilities
• Lead the collaboration with brand teams to develop marketing campaigns that thoughtfully and strategically use ESPN's comprehensive media resources. This role will have responsibility for evaluating which ESPN properties should receive marketing support and to what extent including budget recommendations.
• Oversee development of media briefs for internal teams and external agencies
• Coordinate with ESPN Research and outside research vendors to garner fan insights that inform marketing plans and strategies and develop robust and ongoing campaign measurement
• Work with media agencies on strategic direction and ROI for off channel plans for key properties such as NBA and CFP
• Work with research to understand target insights for ESPN brands, specifically cross media consumption
• Lead an in-house team that develops, models and executes all digital based performance marketing
• Responsible for management of key agency partners and the integrated media strategy team (15 people across three offices)
• ESPN media strategy and planning team
• ESPN digital traffic group for all digital media needs – ESPN.com and ESPN Mobile
• ESPN TV scheduling and optimization team
• Represent ESPN media team on TWDC cross functional marketing teams and larger teams as necessary
• Assist VP in long range planning and overall media budget decisions.
Basic Qualifications
• Minimum of 15 years overall business experience, with a minimum of 12 years in media (client or agency).
• 6 years of managerial experience with various teams .
• An understanding of analytics and using data from various sources to inform media plans and targeting capabilities.
• Familiar with ROI and attribution modeling
• Analytical skills.
• Ability to convert Insights to Strategy.
• Knowledge of the media research landscape, media planning and buying across platform including TV, radio, digital, mobile, print and OOH.Experience with leading and directing vendor/agency relationships and defining their scope of work, deliverables, budget and timelines.
Preferred Qualifications
• Fast paced and ability to tack in a dynamic environment.
• Preferable experience on TV, media or retail type accounts.
• Understanding of sports environment.
