Full Time Job
We are looking for an energetic and talented individual to join the ESPN Affiliate software development team. The affiliate business handles all aspects of ESPN's relationship with our affiliate partners who include Comcast, Time Warner, DirecTV, and Cox for example. We collaborate with them on technical solutions that bring ESPN content to a growing number of platforms. This person will be building technical solutions that support a business that is complex, dynamic, and fast paced. Our business spans across the globe and this development team works with our affiliate partners in the US and abroad.
This is a project role with an estimated duration of two (2) years.
Responsibilities
• Interprets and understands complex information as part of business opportunities. Conceives and develops systematic alternatives for mission critical projects that are broad in their scope of application. Gains approval of final systems design, ensuring that new and modified systems effectively meet requirements.
• Successfully troubleshoots complex system problems providing diagnosis and a technical resolution.
• Provides technical guidance as necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
• Minimum 6 years of experience with the design and construction of Oracle software systems/ applications
• Extensive knowledge and experience developing front end applications using Oracle* Forms 11.x, Oracle*Reports 11.x.
• Extensive knowledge and experience developing database solutions using Oracle 10.x, PL/SQL and SQL*Plus.
• Experience with Unix shell scripting.
• Experience using SQL*Loader.
• Experience using SQR a plus
Required Education
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline or its equivalent
