Resource Coordinator (Broadcast Personnel/Facility Scheduling)
ESPN Production Operations is a unit within the Production division of ESPN Content. Our staff comprises Network Control, Content Edit, Studio Operations, Production Control Rooms, Facility Resources and Business Operations. We also have specialists in Resource Project Coordination, Business Administration and more. Though we staff many traditional roles in the television industry, our work is produced and then converted into many formats for different distribution on platforms such as mobile phones, iPads, Video on Demand, .com and other digital carriers.
The Resource Coordinator role is responsible for various coordination functions, including, but not limited to: Communication with internal and external partners, planning and booking of Production facilities as well as the scheduling of personnel for all live shows and other related production assignment. In addition, will provide administrative support through reports on specific planning initiatives or other roles as deemed necessary by Operations Management.
Responsibilities
• Required duties will include interpreting complex event traffic information; follow up analysis and problem solving.
• Expected to maintain reports for the Operations group to be utilized in corporate settings for planning specific budgets and other related business.
• Generate monthly and daily assignment schedules for various Production groups based on established guidelines and programming schedule, while maintaining accuracy of daily personnel schedules to ensure all necessary show functions are covered.
• Evaluate and recommend staffing options for events and to compensate for illness, vacations or other absences.
• Monitor and implement changes issued by Programming or Production and consult with management to adjust staffing needs as necessary. Communicate staffing and Program changes to affected groups or individuals.
• Basic knowledge of ESPN programming, and of the specific jobs that fall within production scheduling responsibility plus an in-depth knowledge of ESPN's production scheduling procedures and systems.
• May participate in special event coverage or projects as necessary.
Basic Qualifications
• A minimum of 2-4 years of operations and/or resource planning or scheduling experience at the large market or network level.
• Must demonstrate ability to perform tasks under tight deadlines, work independently and manage simultaneous projects.
• Solid communication skills.
• Organizational, efficiency and planning skills
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Flexibility to alter shifts/days off to accommodate projects and departmental objectives.
Preferred Qualifications
• Solid knowledge of all TV Production equipment and technology within assigned operating areas, including but not limited to; VTRs, server based recording/ playback devices and related software applications, TV Production routers, intercom systems, signal conversion equipment, etc.
• Candidates must have good computer background (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc...).
• Bilingual (written and spoken) in both English and Spanish.
Required Education
• Bachelor's Degree in communications, electronics, television production or related field.
