Full Time Job
The Coordinator II is responsible for ordering transmission and telecom services for ESPN remote events. They will coordinate more of the larger events as well as provide on-site supervision of telecom installations.
Network Traffic is responsible for providing transmission, telecommunications, and internet access for all ESPN remote events. Transmission could include fiber, satellite, or a combination of both to transmit the event's audio and video back to the main Bristol facility. We also provide net return back to the site, and transmissions between the event site and various other locations. We order telephone service to be temporarily installed at the venue to provide communication for the remote workers. DSL, ISDN, internet T-1's or point to point T-1's could also be installed to provide temporary internet access, communications directly back to Bristol, or to be used for VoIP connections. Network Traffic is also responsible for traveling to site to supervise the installation of these services at the larger events, creating budgets, and making sure the invoices for all ordered services get properly coded to their respective events.
Responsibilities
• Procure transmission and telecom services for medium sized ESPN remote events
• For all assigned programs and events, gather and integrate necessary technical, operational, and fiscal information from within Network Traffic, various other ESPN departments, and from sources outside of ESPN.
• Gather cost information, create budgets, and distribute that information to relevant individuals or departments.
• Create workorders containing service information for that particular event. Distribute this workorder to all relevant parties in a prescribed time period before the event.
• Evaluate invoices for all services ordered, and process these invoices by coding them to the correct cost code in a timely manner.
• As Assigned, provide management of all on-site telecommunications at remote events
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge about the operational and technical aspects of various telecom services and equipment at a level necessary and appropriate for fulfilling the department's responsibilities
• Insure that telecom services and equipment vendors meet and maintain ESPN technical and operational standards.
• Research and suggest more advanced or cost savings solutions to performing Network Traffic functions.
• Perform various special projects as assigned
Basic Qualifications
• Candidate must possess strong communications and interpersonal skills and organizational abilities.
• Candidate must be able to maintain attention to detail and work independently in a demanding deadline driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications
• A minimum of 3 years professional experience related to broadcast or technical operations including on-site experience with remote venue telecommunications.
• Professional experience operating processes of remote sports productions.
• Fundamental knowledge of Production workflow and operating systems.
• Knowledge of telecom services.
• Experience managing and implementing multiple budgets.
Required Education
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
