Full Time Job
This Project - Production Assistant (ESPN Films) job duration is approximately 24 months.
Responsibilities
• Supports the production of ESPN Films projects including select 30 for 30 documentaries
• Will be assigned to several productions and their producers/production teams
• Will provide general production support to project from start to completion, with emphasis on researching and compiling footage from the ESPN archive
• Conducts extensive research, using discretion in identifying footage that will be beneficial to assigned project
• Creates detailed logs to accompany footage provided to filmmakers
• Works closely with internal ESPN producer on the rough cut notes and review process
• Coordinates and manages digital delivery of master files and other deliverables from filmmakers/production companies
• Manages marketing assets, plan and support screenings and work with a team to consider distribution and promotion
• Has a passion for documentary film and understanding of the research, archival, licensing processes and how they fit into overall storytelling process
• Has basic editing knowledge and skills, preferably on Avid, and can use them to create assets, including trailers, clips and promotional materials
• Interacts with a variety of Directors, Producers, Project Managers and Associate Producers at various levels
Basic Qualifications
• Understanding of production editing equipment and processes and uses this knowledge in a creative manner
• Strong historical sports knowledge
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with little supervision and under strict deadlines
• Demonstrated communication and organization skills
Preferred Qualifications
• A minimum of a year of production or related experience
• Ability to work on a team
Required Education
• High School Degree or equivalent
Preferred Education
• Bachelor's Degree in Communications or related field
