Full Time Job
The Podcast Production Assistant I, ESPN Films, will be part of a small team working to develop and execute the first run of 30 for 30 podcasts over the course of 18 months. Podcast PA should bring a strong audio or video production background and will play a large role in shaping the production of the series of the series. The PA will work with our producers and editors to research stories, secure archival material, coordinate planning, editing, travel, promotion, and some administrative duties.
Responsibilities
• Help coordinate the day-to-day production of the series.
• Provide research and archival support across the different episodes.
• Help arrange logistics of interviews, travel, promotion, meetings across ESPN, and more.
• Participate in the reporting, editing, and production process as needed.
Basic Qualifications
• 2-3 years experience working in collaborative environments, ideally in TV or radio journalism.
• Meticulous attention to detail and experience planning long-term projects.
• Experience in finding, researching, and structuring unique stories.
• Experience managing freelancers and collaborating with other producers, invoicing, billing, and more.
• Very good organization and communication skills.
• Thrives in a team setting.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience producing and editing sound-rich, narrative, audio programming.
• relationships with freelance podcast talent.
• relationships with archival vendors and leagues.
Required Education
• Bachelor's Degree.
Preferred Education
• Bachelor's Degree in film-making, journalism and/or communications.
• Post graduate study in film-making and/or internship in sports journalism/sports media.
