Project-Digital Media Associate (Product Management)
The ESPN Digital Media Associate position (DMA) is a 12-month rotational program that develops candidates by providing personalized learning experiences based on individual objectives and current business needs. The candidate selected for the Digital Media Associate – Product position will gain real-world experience from a variety of units within our Digital Product group. The DMA will experience the full scope of the product development process by rotating through the various disciplines within the Digital Media Product group and by carrying out specific tasks and delivering against clear objectives and milestones. The DMA program is intended to develop junior-level associates for increased responsibility within ESPN Digital and Print Media.
This is a project position with an estimated length of one year.
Responsibilities
• Manage scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with product owner and stakeholders
• Effectively communicate project expectations to product team members in a clear fashion
• Escalate projects risks and constraints in a timely manner
• Track and report slippages with workable mitigation plans
• Create meeting agendas, capture project meeting notes, and drive the follow up action items to completion
• Establishes and maintain project communications and collaborates with other program and project managers
• Manage project quality and performance standards
• Track project milestones and deliverables
• Communicate project objectives, including detail understanding of milestones, deliverables, and success criteria to product stakeholders
Basic Qualifications
• Highly skilled in time management to facilitate involvement in multiple projects
• Ability to execute and understand how to capture requirements and translating those requirements into action
• Solid facilitation and problem solving skills and ability to focus both strategically and tactically to achieve business goals
• Self-directed and the ability to work independently and manage communications across teams
• Must have an entrepreneurial spirit and the flexibility to adapt as projects and timelines evolve
• Ability to function in a matrix environment
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in digital media industry (e.g., mobile applications, internet, video, and broadband)
• Strong communication skills including the ability to ensure shared understanding of complex requirements and priorities
