Full Time Job
Supports content creation for ESPN's On Demand services and broadcast and live Interactive TV productions. Edits and delivers video on demand to ESPN's cable distribution partners and electronic sell through (EST) customers. Supports production of features and specialty programs. Supports live coverage of events for ESPN's interactive presentation of golf and tennis Major tournaments (in partnership with DirecTV and ESPN3).
Responsibilities
• Prepares short and long form programs for ESPN on Demand.
• Edits in Quantel Q Cuts, publishes assets, and coordinates with operations and technical personnel responsible for encoding and transmission.
• Makes sound editorial judgments in repurposing ESPN network content for alternate distribution platforms.
• Authors metadata with program descriptions and specifications and communicates internally with various departments involved in the process.
• Moves media electronically and encodes for required distribution formats.
• Creates graphics, interstitials, integrating animation, and sound elements.
• Handles dub and clipping requests and responds to multi-format conversion needs.
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Communications, or related major
• Minimum one year related sports production experience.
• Must demonstrate the ability to show leadership, to drive content and to work collaboratively with team members.
• Good knowledge of TV production and video editing
• Must possess demonstrated communication skills and ability to react quickly and positively under a wide variety of production situations that continually arise and are subject to change.
• Good knowledge of US and International sports
Preferred Qualifications
• Knowledge of what ''works'' on TV and what is realistic to accomplish in time allotted for show production.
• Knowledge of Spanish a plus
