Full Time Job
The Marketing Manager assists the Associate Director, Director and VP in the development of overall marketing and advertising strategies in promotion of ESPN Deportes and US Hispanic fan engagement programs. He/she will also contribute to maintaining the health and vitality of the overall ESPN brand by leading internal ESPND and Hispanic marketing and brand education efforts.
Responsibilities
The Marketing Manager will lead marketing strategy for the following efforts and executions:
• Live, breathe, and execute the overall communications plans for all assigned properties.
• Guide, maintain, and extend the ESPND marketing efforts.
• Develop Hispanic marketing strategies that support on-going programming priorities that drive ratings and revenue.
• Build and nurture relationships with the ESPND programming, production, digital and research teams, along with internal and agency partners.
• Collaborate with ESPN Brand Teams, Research, Sales to ensure account/brand specific marketing activities are aligned with both corporate and sales strategies
• Spearhead and manage the creation of key art, topical promotions, radio, digital, social and affiliate platform deliverables and more.
• Develop targeted, performance-based marketing plans for various content and platform priorities.
• Manages assigned sports landscape and all aspects of promotional enhancements
• Maintain and broaden direct relationships across internal departments and serve as day-to-day contact/project manager for all specific marketing activities.
• Confirm, coordinate, identify and inventory opportunities for in-channel marketing.
• Lead internal brand education efforts.
• Serve as Hispanic marketing expert for ESPN's products and services with knowledge and awareness of competitive network marketing and programming.
• Reinvigorate Hispanic fan and brand education touch points throughout the company.
• Attend external corporate and sales meetings to provide marketing consultation where appropriate.
• Manage, develop, and continue to evolve the promotion of ESPN's US Hispanic fans
• Drive Hispanic fan engagement programs for ESPN networks and platforms.
• Be a creative ideator for the department at large.
• Serve as primary liaison between Brand and Sales teams to ensure all necessary information is compiled to appropriately activate marketing efforts on agreed upon marketing efforts.
• Develop creative solutions and new approaches utilizing Network assets to drive marketing goals.
• Lead brainstorms and facilitate cross-department dialogue to drive ideation around key programming initiatives.
• Effectively lead and manage marketing projects specific to this role, including cross team engagement, execution, results assessments and post merchandising.
• Supervise and provide daily oversight and guidance to Marketing Assistant or Coordinator.
• Cascade strategic direction of company to team
Basic Qualifications
• Direct experience at media company or agency
• Ideal candidates will have 4 years minimum of brand marketing experience.
• Proven understanding of marketing strategy including campaign development and sell-in, creative process, budget management and ROI analysis.
• Excellent budget, project and people management, interpersonal communication, presentation, organization and computer skills necessary.
• Ability to work in an extremely fast paced environment with tight deadlines
• Travel is required up to 20%
• Fluent in Spanish
Preferred Qualifications
• The Marketing Manager is a self-starter, an ideator and a discerning creative thinker. Strong candidates will have a voracious fandom for sports, pop culture and the ways in which they intersect.
• Ability to generate ideas and new concepts / positioning as it relates to support marketing goals.
• Marketing experience in television or new media content environment.
