Full Time Job
The Manager, Social Intelligence will acquire, mine, organize and analyze social, digital, and TV data to best understand our fans, our brand, our content, our competition and our business. This Manager will help ESPN's Fan & Media Intelligence team to be a centralized hub for sharing insights and best practices that drive positive outcomes across ESPN's Sales & Marketing, Affiliate, Production, Programming, Communications and Digital Media business units. Responsibilities will include establishing and developing standardized reports sourced from best in-class social data sources and developing strategic projects and analyses to inform internal clients. The person who fills this role will be positioned as a Social Intelligence subject matter expert within the ESPN Fan & Media Intelligence team working alongside the Director of Marketplace and Social Intelligence.
Responsibilities
• Assess, cultivate, expand and manage social intelligence resources.
• Develop and implement social reporting standards.
• Create innovative approaches that determine impact of social activity on digital and TV.
• Create impactful analyses around ESPN's position in the social space.
• Act as subject matter expert on social behavior and platform performance.
• Manage day-to-day workload of Sr. Analyst.
Basic Qualifications
• Minimum of 5 years of experience focused on social intelligence/web analytics with media company, media agency, social media company or social listening vendor.
• Experience with social research tools and digital analytics tools (Shareablee, Spredfast, Adobe, comScore, Nielsen, etc.).
• Understanding of social channel analytics capabilities and metrics (i.e. Facebook Insights)
• Experience with Social TV data and Nielsen's Social Content Ratings (formerly SocialGuide)
• Familiarity with digital media and TV business.
• Impeccable written and verbal communication skills.
• Very strong analytical ability, critical thinking, and proactive problem solving.
• Understanding of disparate methodologies of social measurement and metrics.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment is essential.
Preferred Qualifications
• Working knowledge in quantitative (i.e. surveys) and qualitative (i.e. focus groups) research
• Experience with Social TV data and Nielsen's Social Content Ratings (formerly SocialGuide)
• Familiarity with digital media and TV business.
• Impeccable written and verbal communication skills.
• Very strong analytical ability, critical thinking, and proactive problem solving.
• Understanding of disparate methodologies of social measurement and metrics.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment is essential.
